In 2002 we were working out in Cuppertino on the 2nd Generation iPod, the R+D guys were talking about keeping the Music 'Up in The Cloud', ten years later that's a reality, Apple only releases products when they are truly ready, that is one of their greatest strengths...

Keyboard+

Keyboard+ is for people with large hands, it works OK, but, a far better alternative is Wacom's Bamboo Stylus for iDevices, makes Typing much easier, Drawing and Photoshop etc become a pleasure...it also makes games like Angry Birds much better as you have a greater chance of accuracy than when you use your finger...check it out here...

David Gilmour

We took this portrait of Pink Floyd's Guitarist, David Gilmour in 1982 for his 2nd Solo Album, he is quite simply one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, his equally talented wife, the Author Polly Samson, has just had her wonderful book of short stories "Perfect Lives" published in the US, you can get it here...

Trickle

Photo_jun_10_2_03_03_pm
With the baking of Twitter into iOS5 I feel it time to start an occasional Twitter App posting, not the usual suspects though, this is Trickle, it displays random Tweets from your feed in a simple and elegant way...

Trickle is an easy way to enjoy a little downtime without getting obsessed and lets you waste minutes instead of hours...they just released a Facebook version too, if that interests you...

The Visible Man

Visible_man_
In 1958 this was truly The State of The Art, a plastic construction kit that allowed you access to the human organs, way superior to those Doctors and Nurses games, it took a lot of work to put together and 50 years later morphed into one of the very first iPad App's, Steve Jobs and I were both three years old at the time of it's release...

Wineman

When Jeff, our Director of Future Technologies applied for a job at the Studio 15 years ago, I gave him an 8x10 transparency of a well used, but, beautifully engineered German Bottle Opener, I asked him to see if he could clean it up for possible inclusion in our Portfolio, about a week later he returned with this image, he has been here ever since...and is absolutely indispensable...

The Killing Knife

Kill_kill_

I have always loved knives, and, not just the ones used when cooking, this particular knife is about as brutal an instrument as you can get, if you split the graphic that runs down the center in half, you can see that it is actually the word KILL run symmetrically, killing is about the only thing this knife actually does...of course when you see it as a pattern it looks almost looks innocent, it would make perfect Wallpaper for a cool kids bedroom...

Symmetry is something that you will see time and time again throughout our work, nothing pleases me more...

Viviennetamwallpaper

We have been making Photographic Patterns for over fifteen years, this is the very first one that we did, it was part of a range of Fabrics that we designed for a well known Fashion Designer called Vivienne Tam, although it is made from a Flower that is really a circle, when viewed from a distance it actually seems more like a plaid...

Looking at the original file I just realized that it was produced in Photoshop 3.0 !!!
